RUROC x DC
BATMAN & JOKER

I had the opportunity to bring my own creative vision to two of Gotham’s most iconic characters, Batman and Joker, translating their distinct visual identities into helmet designs while balancing authentic character detail with Ruroc’s distinctive design language.

The Batman and Joker helmets are a selection from a wider body of officially licensed DC helmet designs I created at Ruroc, which also included Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, The Riddler and Green Lantern.

Throughout the design process, I worked closely with DC Comics and Warner Bros. to develop a range of options and concepts, exploring how best to bring these characters and their iconography to life. This project showcases my personal favourites.

I explored a range of Joker concepts, drawing inspiration from his many appearances across comics, film and animation. A key challenge was making his iconic smile feel natural and read clearly across the form of a motorcycle helmet. Mouths added to helmets can often look uncanny, so I leaned into the exaggerated qualities of his comic and animated designs. This allowed me to stretch and exaggerate the smile across the front of the helmet while keeping it feeling true to the character.
